Percussion Parisienne - David Carroll

Alouette
Percussion Parisienne
David Carroll And His Orchestra
Mercury Records PPS 6008
1961

From Billboard - May 22, 1961: Here's a fine-sounding new entry in Mercury's Perfect Presence series, with maestro Carroll offering a flock of Parisian-oriented tunes in danceable, handsomely recorded fashion. Strings and various percussion are used with harpsichord and concertina much in the spotlight. Attractive book-fold set shows colorfully garbed can-can girls on the cover. Good sound all the way, and a highly displayable package.

About half of the tracks offer above average creative space-age arrangement twists. These tracks are blended with a number of more traditional, period, big band arrangements.
